A new artwork by Paul Pibworth has been fabricated from sheet stainless steel and takes the form of a swallow in flight.
Artist Paul Pibworth was resident at i-LAB for over 12 months, but recently made way for the arrival of Full House Theatre.
Paul Pibworth attended Potton Primary School, Sandy Place Middle and Sandy Upper School in Bedfordshire. In 1979 he joined the employ of Rusper Sheet Metal, Eldon Way Biggleswade, as an apprentice sheet metal worker.
Paul gained two distinctions and one merit in City & Guilds qualifications and once qualified, in 1983, moved on to work for D.C. Norris & Co. Ltd, Great Gransden. There he worked as a Project Manager before leaving in 1996 to start his own business designing and manufacturing wrought iron furniture and fittings.
In 2001, Paul decided to formalise his design qualifications and entered a full time HND course in Three Dimensional Design, at Bedford College. In 2003, Paul joined the second year of a BA Degree course in Spatial Art and Arts Management, at London Metropolitan University. He graduated in June 2005 and was awarded a prize for best student portfolio. Paul has expertise in photography, graphic design, new technologies and placing art in both the built and natural environment.
Paul is currently assisting HAPPEN with the development of a public art strategy for the Greensand Ridge Walk in Mid-Bedfordshire.
